New York Fashion Week 2011

With famed designers well known all over the world to showcase their new styles,new and upcoming designers hoping their showcases wow the photographers from magazines and the crowds of influential buyers and celebrities alike, New York Fashion week is a time Honored tradition known to make or break a fashion designer, or the models who showcase the clothes the designers worked so hard to complete.

New York Fashion week is the first and foremost of all fashion shows, and kicks off the global fashion week, the show in new york quickly being followed by fashion weeks in Milan, London, and Paris. Winter/Fall fashion week 2011 is due to take off on February 11 and end on the 18th. While Spring/Summer fashion week takes place in September, starting the 8th, and ending the 15th. Many of New York’s fashion shows are planned out years in advance, the furthest away being Spring/Summer of 2015.

While most fashion designers are already due to set up at New York’s Lincoln Center, Mercedes-Benz fashion is due to switch venues to the Lincoln Center starting for winter/fall 2011. Many Bryant Park businesses and photographers are gearing up for fashion week, setting out new products and trying to earn place-cards at the prestigious event. Stars from all over the globe, designers already famous and models as well as political and forgien dignitaries are set to attend the week-long event. Magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Glamour have been prepping their photographers, designers and models for months just for this event.

Fashion week is Due to host some of today’s most famed designers, such as DNKY,Timo Weiland,Suzanne Rae,Behanz Sarafpour, Vivienne Tam, Charlotte Ronson,  Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg Alexander Wang,and label Gstar Raw. Already famous celebrities have been reported checking out the fashion weeks latest styles, such as Posh spice(Victoria Beckham),Soon-to-be Princess Kate Middleton, and Nichole Richie(now Mrs. Madden) to name a few. DailyRow.com offers a charming little calendar that gives the name of each designer due to show their collection on which day at the Lincoln center from the 11th of this month to the 18th.

New York is an Essential tourist stop for many, and if your willing to put the funds into it,New York is the Greatest place to find Luxury living and staying. Setai 5th Avenue is just down the street from the famed Empire state building, Bryant park and the Museum of Metropolitan art. Trump SoHo is an impressive 46 story building with 391 rooms and suites. Guests are treated to 19th century decor and scenery within the heart of New York soaring just above Spring Street. Though room rates within New York are starting at 250$ a night and rising, an impressive 34 new hotels within the city just opened this year with 28 more under construction. The Ritz Carlton-Central Park in New York is a luxury hotel situated at probably one of the best adresses a hotel can get, Central Park. This hotel is a high end, highly recommended place to stay, boasting some of the best views of New York City and Central Park. Just minuets from fine dining and shopping,with a golfing range and spa within the hotel’s must-have activities to do list.

Perks to living in New York.

The big apple is a city many people dream of visiting, but never get to,let alone living there. While it may seem daunting, there are many,many perks to living in New York City, here are but a few that come to mind, and are the main place to want to visit when they first get there:

Times Square. One of the most well-known places in New York and a favorite of tourists to visit again and again.Places to see within times square are: The Hershey store,The Poets reading room, Popcorn Indiana, as well as ABC studios.

Broadway. Home to Musical theater productions for YEARS and a fantastic place for the music lover! Many of Broadways shows are not only phenomenal for the music, but for the raw singing talent and the chance to spot a few famous actors either on stage or in the crowd.

Ellis Island Tour: Ellis island was the main port for all immigrants entering the United States through the Eastern cost, and many of the records that kept track of every single person who came into port still reside at the museum. Look to see if you can spot an ancestor of your own entered in their books.

Ice Skating in Bryant Park and Rockefeller center. Rockefeller is famous for it’s Christmas trees during winter, and the Ice rink and surrounding stores and studios are a favorite for many. Bryant Park is gorgeous at any time of year, weather it’s cold or warm!

Central Park. Is a staple of many visits to new york, and can also be a great walk for a local. New York Philharmonic gives free concerts there during the summer.

The Metropolitan museum and the Museum of Modern Art are staples for any art lover, and are home to some of the worlds most exquisite and expensive pieces of art in the world.

5th avenue shopping such as,Soho boutiques, the meatpacking district is home to many clubs celebrities are often seen frequenting.Every major designer has a flagship store within New York which makes for great shopping all the time.
